What. is. happening!? Blog

Hey everyone! Today we are talking about the Trump assignation attempt and how we Christians can end the divisiveness of this country, short videos that "show your love for Christ." an odd coke trend, and more on today's Tuesday Talks With Titus!

I first want to thank y'all for your patience as I took an unexpected break. As a lot of you know I am  a very busy person but you can trust that today's episode is going to be a great one! Let's get started!

Something you may or may not have seen are some posts that state something like "If you love the devil and hate God keep scrolling" Personally, that type of thing makes me pretty mad because scrolling past a video that may or may not be biblical does not determine your love for Christ!

Based off of Romans 8:39, God's love for us endures forever, but what determines our love for Christ? Looking at 1 John 1, we will see that when we walk in darkness our fellowship with Christ will be less and less, But when We walk in The light, our fellowship with Christ will be greater.

I don't know about y'all, but for me, If I'm out of fellowship with somebody, it makes me feel further from them. This verse speaks to me and i'm hoping it's speaking to you, because I know there's been moments in my life where sin made me feel far from God. And I know I've had moments in my life where even doing my Devotionals and  memorizing scripture, I still felt far from God.

God doesn't want us to live in sin. That's why one day we won't have to live in a world that has sin! But another thing to understand is that when we sin It's just like going back into a jail cell that's unlocked. You have the freedom to escape that jail cell Anytime you want. the doors open, but You have to choose to walk away from the jail That is sin!

1 John 4 gets straight to the point and tells us that if we can't love one another that our love for Christ is also lacking. Now, based off of something I learned at The Summit, the purpose of life is to know God and to mirror Him to others.  The passage takes this a step deeper and tells us we can get a clearer picture of who God is in seeing and showing the love of others around us and showing love to others. It's important, since Christians are often criticized for claiming that they have this love, but not showing on the way some people expect.  Love does not have to be shutting up about Biblical Truth and convictions! I know we've covered this before in a previous podcast, but I figured it was important to restate this truth. Speak the truth in love. I'm other words,  speak truth but don't be a jerk.

The bottom line is there are many ways to show the love God but scrolling past a video or reel, that may have some truth to it,  does not define your love for God!

Moving on to the assassination attempt, I want to first say I'm not about to get political just bear with me. As many of you know, a couple of months ago former president Donald J. Trump was holding a rally in Butler, PA. As he began his speech, shots were fired wounding several and killing one member of the crowd.

I am not here to talk about anything accept how both sides of the political spectrum handled this. Both Right and Left-wing people started saying hateful things that I cannot nor do I want to say on this podcast.

Politics have created an unimaginable divide with the American people. It's honestly quite sad. We can see it in some debates. You used to see the opponents shake hands and say "hello", but now they can't look each other in the eye! I am here to tell you that we cannot as Christ-followers be apart of this divide! We need to be the ones to solve it! If you disagree with someone that's fine but don't let it affect your love for them as people!

1 Corinthians 13:4-5 Says, "Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud 5 or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged."   Are you and I showing this love in our interactions with people of opposing views? Do you want to end the divisiveness in the world? it starts with you and me and in our daily interactions with others! Let's all work on loving in politics as well as everywhere else!

As we wrap up I wanted to tell y'all about a tiktoc trend that to this day I don't know what to think about it! there is a trend where you put marshmallow fluff in a cup, add coke, stir then taste. I did this and I'm still trying to figure out how this tastes decent!

Thank y'all so much for reading this episode! we will see you next month!
