Identity Theft!

                                         Written by Titus Kitchen 6/27/23

What do you identify as? Maybe you identify as a specific gender, a type of sexuality, or as someone with a good or bad past, etc., or maybe you identify with something. We tend to look for our true identity, but even when we try our hardest, we can’t seem to find it. What is our identity? And how can we be sure that it's the infallible truth? Let’s find out in today’s Tuesday Talk With Titus!

Hello everyone, and welcome back! My name is Titus, and today, as I said before, we will be talking about our true identity. Let’s admit it: everyone claims they know what their identity is, but the moment they feel uncomfortable with this identity, they change it. Alright, my first question is,

“Is your identity changeable?” It seems obvious to some, but to others, it's a more complicated question. You see, we live in a society where all you have to do to change what most think is your identity is to say, “I identify as ___,” and if anyone disagrees, then they are “___-phobic.” (I won't be getting into the phobia stuff today.) When I was writing this, I was fully ready to answer the question with no, but when I saw this verse, my mind was changed!

2 Corinthians 5:17 says this, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”

Did you catch that!? If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come! Now, while saying you can change your physical identity is false, saying that you can change your spiritual identity is fully true! Think about it this way: when you don’t have God, you don’t have hope or a reason to follow any set of morals. Because when there is no God, life can seem meaningless! Not to mention the problem with mental health—when you have God, He is fighting the battle with you! But when you don’t have God, you are fighting alone. which has to be hard…And scary!) Without God in your life, your identity can become distorted, which must be why many are searching for identity in all the wrong places.

Everyone keeps saying, “I identify as a man, a woman, non-binary, gay, lesbian, transgendered, someone who is attractive, someone who isn’t, etc.” Let me say this: As a child of God, I identify as a new creation in Christ! The reason I called this episode “Identity Theft” is because the media is trying to steal our identity by giving us more things to identify as when our identity is in Christ! Nothing else! To wrap up my answer, your identity is changed from an orphan to a child of God when you make him your Savior.

Moving on to the next question, “Why is a true identity so hard to find?” It's more than just because everyone is looking in the wrong places, as stated before. Check out this verse! Psalm 139:13-14 "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful; I know that full well."

God created us; we didn’t knit ourselves in our mother’s womb, your mother didn’t, your father didn't (this doesn’t minimize their biological contributions), and no one else except for God creates life.

God knows your true identity. He knows if you are his child or if you're lost.  He knows whether your current identity is in Christ or in yourself, and all that entails. Stop putting your identity in all these other things. None of them truly define who you are or what your purpose in life is supposed to be.

When people ask me not to talk about God, I try to tell them that God is not just another hobby. He is my reason for living. To be honest, I don’t think I would be here without God in my life. He is the reason I live; He is the meaning of life; without Him, I would see no purpose in living or, at a minimum, no lasting value in this life. (God is the reason you’re here too!)

As some of you know, my Dad is a pastor, and with his time in the ministry, He has come to know many people. That normally leads to people who know me and know a lot about me, but I don't know them. Does this sound like God? (Meaning, does God know you, but you don’t know him?)

If you want to know God, be His Child and have a true identity, all you need to do is believe and truly believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that He died, was buried and rose again for your sin. Ask God for forgiveness. Tell God That you accept Him as Savior and Lord of your life! (I have to say, those are just words unless you mean it. And it’s the intent of your heart, not the words you say)

Thank Y’all so much for joining me! If you would like to keep seeing this podcast/blog don’t forget to like and follow! Also, to help me get the word out please share this with your family and Friends. We will see you next time on

Tuesday Talks With Titus!

May I ask you a question? What do you identify as? Maybe you identify as a specific gender or as a type of sexuality, or maybe as someone with a good or bad past or something else, or maybe you identify it with something. We tend to look for what our true identity is, but even when we try our hardest, we can't seem to find it.

What is our true identity and how can we be sure that is the infallible truth? Let's find out. In today's Tuesday, talks with Titus.

Hello everyone and welcome back to Tuesday Talk with Titus. I hope you enjoyed that little intro that I made. As I said before, we are going to be talking about our true identity. Now, let's admit it. Everyone claims they know what their identity is, but the moment they feel uncomfortable with that identity, they change it.

I'm not gonna think of any names, but there is a certain YouTuber who recently started announcing that they are going to go under some, , hormone therapy and have been for a while. And it's unfortunate because that person is lost and I'm sure maybe one name came up to your mind and maybe a couple. If you're really wondering, just email me and I'll tell you who it is.

, but my first question about this entire topic, what is our true identity is. Is your identity changeable? It seems obvious to some, but not so obvious to others. I mean, in this world, we just live in a world where identity is constantly changed. All you have to do to change your identity is just say, I identify as blank, and that's your new identity.

That is what you are. And if anyone disagrees, they are fill in the blank. Phobic. I won't be getting into the phobia stuff today. If you would like me to go ahead and, um, leave a comment telling me that you'd like to or email me, um, my email is Tuesday Talks with titus@gmail.com. When I was writing this, I have to be honest, when I was writing this, I was fully ready to answer this question with no, no way.

Like, can you really change your identity? But when I saw this verse, my mind was completely changed. Second Corinthians five 17 says this, therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come. The old has gone, and the new is here. Now that's just an incredible verse. Did you catch that? If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come now while saying you can change, your physical identity is false.

Let's admit it. Saying that you can change your spiritual identity is fully true. Think about it this way. When you don't have God, it seems that you don't have hope or a reason to follow any set of morals because when there is no God in your life, life can seem meaningless. Not to mention the problem with mental health.

When you have God, he's fighting the battle with you, and that's. A big help, I'm sure. But when you don't have God, you're fighting alone. Maybe you have friends to help you, but there's no one really helping on the spiritual side of that mental health issue. And I have to say, some people may get the idea that that's me saying, God will fix all your problems, health, mental health, all that.

He won't unless he chooses, but. What he will do is he will walk you through them. Sometimes we don't like to go through stuff, but it's the best thing for us to go through it. It's kind of like going through a tunnel instead of going around it. Um, I know a couple people who are a little bit scared of going through tunnels and sometimes going around it will take a very long time, and so sometimes you just have to face your fear and go through the trial.

Even when it seems difficult and without God in your life, your identity can become distorted, which must be why so many are searching for identity in all the wrong places. It's constant. I see it every day. I see someone say, I identify as this new thing. It's easy. It's just everyone keeps on saying, I identify as a man, a woman, non-binary, gay, a lesbian, transgendered, someone who is attractive, someone who isn't, et cetera.

But let me say this, I identify as a child of the king, the God who created the universe. That is who I identify as, and that's where my identity is in. And. I identify as a new creation in Christ. The reason I call this episode identity theft is because the media keeps on trying to steal our identity.

Like I said, I see it every day. Someone new is saying that my identity has changed or follow me with my transgender journey, and I've also seen people who say, I regret it. No one ever told me this, this, this. But listen, when you change your spiritual identity to from dead to alive, you won't regret it.

Trust me. So to wrap up my answer, your identity is changed. When you accept God into your life, your identity is changed from an orphan to a child of God when you make him your savior. Before I move on to the next question, I do want to say that I did say I was gonna do an illustration, but for this topic, I don't have a necessarily.

Illustration, but maybe in the next episode. Also, don't forget, at the bottom there's a link. Uh, please donate to Tri Life. Um, I will be doing a video about that in the future, but let's get back on track here. Moving on to the next question. Why is a true identity so hard to find and seemingly so far away?

Well, it's more than just because everyone's looking in the wrong places, as stated before. Check out this verse, Psalm 139, verse 13 through 14 for you created my inmost being, some of you may know this verse. You knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Your works are wonderful and I know that full well. God created us. We didn't knit ourselves, ourselves together in our mother's womb. A lot of people like to put a little bit of pride in their life and say that they are the reason that they are where they are, and God really is the reason. Your mother didn't knit you together in your room even though she played a big part in your birth, and your father didn't knit you together in your mother's womb, even though they both played a huge role in the fact that you were in your mother's womb, and it doesn't minimize their biological contributions, but no one else except for God creates life.

Now that is a statement that I think we can all agree on. God knows your true identity. He knows if your child, you're his child, he knows if you're lost. He knows whether your current identity is in Christ or in self, and all that entails. Stop putting your identity in these other things. Okay? I. I'm not gonna lie today, I'm not really getting into the lesbian, gay, transgendered stuff.

If you are, okay, we're not gonna talk about that today. But what I really wanna talk about is that's not where your identity should be. Your identity should be in Christ, and when your identity is in Christ, your view might change a little bit too. And none of these things that people put their identity in, truly identify who they really are.

It's, it reminds me of one of my favorite songs, best Friends by Hillsong Worship, A Young and Free, and it just says, at one of the verses it says, I don't wanna stereotype to define who I am. That is a statement, and that's a very true statement. I don't wanna stereotype to define who I am because it never knew me anyway, as the song says, when people ask me not to talk about God, I try to tell them that God is not just another hobby.

I have a lot of hobbies, but he is the reason for living. To be honest, I, I don't think I would be here without God being in my life. I don't think I would see a purpose in life, and at a minimum, no lasting value in this life. God is the reason you're here too. Some of you know my dad is a pastor, and in his time in the ministry, he has come to know many people that normally leads to people who know me and know a lot about me, but I don't really know them.

Does this sound like God to you? Meaning does God know you but you don't know him? Listen, that might be a relatable story, whether it's about God or about someone else, but really what I want you to understand and get outta this episode is that you are our new creation. Once you accept God into your life and you go from dead to alive, how incredible is that?

Uh, there's a song that I, I, I'm bringing up a lot of songs today I know, but there's a song that I can't think of the title of. But, um, it says, towards the beginning, the first verse, it says, I believe there's about to be another resurrection. And sometimes that throws me off, and I'm just like, well, another resurrection.

What on earth, if you don't know Christ, you are currently dead in sin. You are dead with sin. But when you accept God into your life, you come alive and you are resurrected. It makes me think of baptism, how we're buried in the likeness of Christ and we're raised to walk in newness of life. We're buried with Christ and raised up.

Baptism has nothing to do with your salvation. In fact, I'm gonna talk about salvation in just a moment, but it is a very good symbol of talking about how when we are dead in sin, we're buried, we're dead. But once we get to know Christ and accept him into our life, we are raised to life. We come back to life.

Now that I don't know about you if you guys are picturing this with me, but that's just incredible to come from death to life. That is incredible. And if you want to go from death to life, here's all you have to do to be his child and to have a true identity. All you need to do. Is truly

believe that Jesus is the son of God and that he died was buried and rose again for your sin.

Ask God for forgiveness next, and then tell God that you accepted him as Savior and Lord in your life. And I have to say really quick. Don't repeat right after me. I really hope you would put those in your own words, because I have to say those words are only words unless you mean them, and it's the intent of your heart, not the words you say.

Okay. And if you need any more help on that or if you need any guidance on any of this or have any questions, just email me at Tuesday. Talks with titus.gmail.com.
