Thou Shalt not murder!
Hello, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to Tuesday Talks with Titus! Today, we are going to be talking about the 6th commandment: thou shall not murder. You may be wondering, “why would we talk about that, doesn't it speak for itself?” Well, not exactly, we will get to that in just a moment. First, let’s read a couple verses. Exodus 20:5 says this, “You shall not murder.” 1 John 3:15 says, “Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him.” Finally, here we will read Psalm 139:13-16, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful; I know that full well.”
I was reading in my Bible a few days ago, and it said something next to Exodus 20. It explained all the ten commandments, and next to Thou Shalt Not Murder, it said, PROTECT HUMAN LIFE! When I saw that, I realized, “I never thought about it that way.” It's important that we DO SOMETHING for God’s unborn children! Also, it is extremely important, that if we see a situation where someone is struggling; whether or not we know who they are, we should come alongside them and be a friend. It’s also fundamental that we look at this literally as well, murder is real! Statistically, "one murder happens every 33.5 minutes!" Let me say that again, one murder happens every 33.5 minutes!
Remember to pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ, and especially for those who murder. For my third and final topic, I will be talking a little about hatred. 1 John 3:15 tells us that God views hatred and murder as the same thing! Wow, that's a little hard to digest! But hatred is a bad thing, and we need to remember that God wants us to love everyone, not just some people. Okay, well, thank y’all for reading! We will see you next time on Tuesday Talks With Titus!
