Titus Talks: Arizona's Abortion Ban, Gun Miracle, and HOA Feud!
Hello everyone and welcome back! In this episode, we will discuss the new Arizona law banning nearly all abortions, an attempted shooting in Braddock PA, a man who beat his town's HOA, and more on today's Tuesday Talks With Titus!
Welcome back, everyone! First things first, this episode is a little late. The reason for that is, as some of you know, I was in a musical this past month. That, in itself, is mentally and physically exhausting, and after trying to get an episode on top of all that...you probably know, that doesn't work. I am very excited to jump back into it with more exciting topics!
Recently, there was a new law in Arizona that was proposed. According to Americans United For Life, the law "Prevents all abortions with an exception for the life of the mother; its enforceability, however, is the subject of ongoing litigation." Before I get further into this topic, I want all of you to know that I will never look down on someone for having an abortion or considering one.
I could dig deeper into how amazing this law is and how it wouldn't have been possible without the overturning of Roe vs. Wade but, instead, I want to talk about the difference between how this news story was delivered between news stations. One headline put it this way "Arizona House votes to overturn 1864 abortion ban, paving way to leave 15-week limit in place" Here's a different approach
to that headline. "Arizona House lawmakers pass bill to repeal 1864 abortion ban" It's the same headline but they sound a tad different. Right? It's all about where your focus is! I read one headline that simply said Arizona placed a century-old law, which made me immediately against it. I then looked further into it to find out it was talking about a law that makes abortion illegal! The main idea is we need to look at the context of the story and who is reporting it. "Stop judging by mere appearances, but instead judge correctly.” John 7:24.
As a side note, a question that recently came up on this topic is "Should we as Christians want abortion to be illegal? I mean, I know that we should be against it but that doesn't mean we should push our beliefs onto other people." My answer is, of course! A book I have been reading titled "Hitler's Cross" talks about how the church stayed silent during Hitler's reign and some even said he was sent by God! Abortion is a big deal and when Christians remain silent about big issues they permit it to continue.
This next story proves that miracles do indeed happen! Want proof? Here's a video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qzk7EcTkEtA
Authorities say that the gun's trigger was indeed pulled, but the trigger was stuck in a position where the gun would not fire as you saw. Isn't that just amazing?! God is working all around us in so many ways and it is crucial that we look for them. Matthew 19:26 "But Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.’ "
This verse honestly speaks for itself. There are a lot of things we can't do that God can. For example, I can't make a trigger on a gun fail at the exact time it's pointed at a Pastor, but God did!
Sometimes, we need to take a step back and realize we cannot live life without God. All around us bad things happen. A world full of humans inevitably has, well, sin. And with sin, comes consequences. Not to say that everything bad that happens to you is punishment for your sin, as we see in Job. But sinners sin, and that can affect everyone. Think about it, if you lie, someone will get hurt, and if you lose control of your mind whether by demons or by drugs or alcohol someone will get hurt. No matter what sin you commit, someone will get hurt.
One of the biggest lessons that I want to learn from this and that I hope y'all will as well is forgiveness makes an incredible difference in this world. I came to find out that the pastor of the church we are talking about forgave the shooter and asked to work with him on building a better life!
As we move on, we will discuss a man who "beat the system" so to speak.
A man in California who was storing his boat on the side of his home was told he had to cover the boat with a fence because it was unpleasant to look at. Well needless to say the man was not happy... But he then came up with a genius idea! Take a look at this: (at the bottom of the page) Now that is using your brain!
I put this story in to show that focusing on all the bad is tiring and completely not worth it! This man could have just put up a fence and continually be angry about it or he could have tried to fight with the HOA. But instead, he decided to have some harmless fun with the situation! Proverbs 17:22 puts it this way, "A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. " Don't be the person who can only be mad or sad! Find the joy God gave to you!
That is going to be all from me today! Don't forget to share this episode and to follow if you haven't already! I have a goal to reach 100 followers who listen to my content.
Next month is again a busy one. I will be attending a 2-week apologetics camp called The Summit at Lookout Mountain, Georgia! I will attempt to get an episode out for July but June might be a tad too busy. Don't worry if you are on YouTube I will try to post updates while I am at the seminar!
Alright! See y'all next time on Tuesday Talks With Titus!

I want to welcome you back if you are joining me again. Sorry about the month delay. I had to. Take a break because it was just a busy month and I am super excited for this episode So I hope it'll be well worth the wait So today we're going to be talking about an arizona law banning nearly all abortions a man who beat his hoa Incredibly with smarts and hilariousness All together, and an attempted shooting in Braddock, PA.
All that and more on today's Tuesday Talks with Titus. So, let's just get right into it. Recently, there was a new law in Arizona that was proposed. According to the Americans United for Life, the law prevents all abortions with an exception for the life of the mother. Its enforceability, however, remains the subject of ongoing litigation.
Before I get further into this topic, I want you to know one thing, and it's pretty important. I will not look down on you if you've had an abortion or if you're even considering one. I want you to understand that. I don't really care about that. God loves you. I still love you. So don't get the idea that I hate you if you've made that decision or if you're thinking about making that decision.
I could dig deeper into how amazing this law is. And how it wouldn't be possible without the overturning of Roe vs. Wade. Instead, I want to talk about the difference between how this news story was delivered between different news stations and different storytellers. And you know, the reason that I chose this, chose this story, is because it came up on my feed and I was, I didn't understand it.
It made no sense because I was just like, Why would you do that? Because the headline was a century old law being brought back to Arizona. I just didn't really know what to think. I was like, a century old law should not be in place. But then I looked at the context and what this was actually talking about and I looked at other news headlines that actually understood the situation.
And now I understand that it was actually about abortion. And that's incredible. It's incredible to have a law banning abortion. That's something that Christians should applaud. But part of the problem here is that I was deceived into thinking that it might be something that's not supposed to be there.
It doesn't make sense to have a century old law there. But actually, we're talking about a law that was originally supposed to stay. That's how I view it. Because, in my view, Abortion is a murder, and it should be covered under the amendment that everyone has the right to life, whether sex, creed, this is not only based off of the bible, I'm talking right here, I'm talking about our constitution as US citizens.
There's the right to life, and I believe babies are covered in that one. Yeah, it was just incredible to see the differences. One of the things I just wanted you to understand is it's just super different. It's all about where your focus is. So I read this headline. I read that headline. Then I looked further into it.
And I found out it was talking about a law I agreed with. Let me just put it in the words of the Bible. Um, the Bible put it this way. Stop judging by mere appearances, but instead judge correctly. John, uh, 724. Which I thought pretty, pretty well summed it up. It kind of made sense to me that don't judge off of the way something or someone looks.
Judge correctly. You know how to judge. That's kind of what I'm getting from that verse. John's not just saying, like, explaining how to judge, he's like, You know how to judge. Judge correctly. So, you know. As a side note, a question that recently came up on this topic is, Should we as Christians want abortions to be illegal?
I mean, I know we should be against it, but that doesn't mean that we should push our beliefs on other people. My answer, of course, is of course. That's the problem, because a book I've been reading titled Hitler's Cross talks about how the church stayed silent during Hitler's reign, and actually were so charmed by his charm that they started to believe he was from God.
You want to know why that's a problem, though? Why that was a foolish thing to believe? Okay, first off, not only that he was killing people and calling it justice, he was also Also, dabbling with devil stuff, devils, he was dabbling with demons, he was dabbling in all of that and glorifying sin. So, kinda sounds like a problem to me, but Christians were starting to think he was from God.
And, instead of the Christians who knew he wasn't from God, instead of speaking up and saying, This is not right, like, what's going on here? They stayed silent. And that is hard because the biggest thing that we need to understand here is abortion is a big deal. And when Christian remains silent about big issues, they permit it to continue.
I know that's a tough pill to swallow, but it's very true. When we stay silent, I'm going to repeat it. So you get it in your head. When we stay silent as Christians about big issues that God calls out to be sin. We permit it to continue. It is our calling to talk about that. All right, so let's move on. The next story proves that miracles do happen indeed.
Want proof? Well, here's a video. Just before we watch this video, I want to give you a fair warning. If you're a younger viewer or someone who just, you know, Might get a little scared at something. Uh, a man is about to do something that might be a little bit inappropriate for younger viewers. So just so you know, okay, that's just incredible to me.
I, I mean, when I first saw this, I was in disbelief. I was like, is this fake? But it wasn't. And I had to check the sources like we talked about a minute ago, but it was very true. And so you want to know something even cooler? Authorities say that the man pulled the trigger. He didn't just point the gun and get tackled.
He pointed the trigger at the pastor, triggered the gun, the, like I said, he pulled the trigger, and nothing happened. The gun was loaded. He could have killed him. But that trigger did not shoot the gun. That's incredible. And we need to remember that miracles happen every day. Sometimes we just need to take a step back and realize we can't live our lives without God.
All around us bad things happen. In a world full of humans, it's inevitable that, well, Humans in general, sin, and with sin comes consequences, and that's, we already are living some of the consequences, but there's also more consequences for our actions. Not to say that everything bad that happens to you is a punishment for sin, we see that in Job.
But, sin is sin, and that can affect everybody. Think about it. If you lie, someone will get hurt. Whether you think it will happen or not, it will. And if you lose control of your mind, whether by demons or by drugs or by alcohol, or by any other thing, someone will get hurt. Like we saw in this situation, someone could have gotten hurt, and he, he got, ended up getting himself hurt.
No matter what sin you commit, someone will get hurt. Drill that into your brain now. Um, but one of the biggest lessons that I wanted to take away from this, and I hope you'll take it away too, and drill it into your mind. I've been saying that a lot, but drill it into your mind, please do. Um, is forgiveness makes an incredible difference.
So one of the things that you've got to understand about the situation is that The pastor's 14 year old daughter watched this entire situation happen. That had to be incredibly scary. Parents don't like their kids to be afraid of things or be traumatized by things. That, that, that experience was probably traumatizing.
I would venture to say it definitely was, but this pastor ended up just talking to this guy and forgiving him. And actually, he found out that this man didn't remember doing this. He lost control. That's why I'm saying when you lose control of your mind, something bad will happen. The pastor decided to forgive.
And instead of just being mad at this guy for the rest of his life and He wants to disciple this man. He said in a news story that he would like to talk to this man and maybe talk to him about Jesus. That would be incredible. You know how big of a change that would be? That turn from Sid from death to life is Incredible no matter who it is, but that'd be a pretty cool turn.
So please pray for this man Pray that he will accept God into his heart and change his life So as we move on we're gonna discuss a man who Beat the system, so to speak. So, a man in California who was storing his boat on the side of his home was told he had to cover the boat with a fence because it was unpleasant to look at.
For me, I like boats. I don't, I mean, I don't really care how they look. The man was not happy, and instead of just getting mad and continuing to just be disappointed, he decided to come up with a genius idea. Here's the picture. He painted a mural. I think he paid someone to paint it. But there's a mural painted on this fence to look exactly like the boat.
Now that's using your brain. So I put this story in to show you that focusing on all the bad is tiring and completely not worth it. This man could have just put a fence up and continually been angry or he could have fought with the HOA or yelled at them or Just been a grumpy man for the rest of his life.
But did he? No, he actually decided to have some fun, harmless fun. With the situation, Proverbs 17, 22 puts it this way. A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. Don't be the person who can't be in a good mood. Be a person who is pleasant to be around because of the mood they're always in.
Be the joy that God gives you. That's the biggest thing. Show the joy that God gives you in your heart so people wonder why you're so joyful. Alrighty, that's gonna be it from me today. Uh, don't forget to share this episode and follow if you haven't already. I have a goal to reach 100 followers on, um, Spotify or wherever you're listening.
It doesn't really matter. Um, but I also am trying to get followers who will listen to my content So if you're going to follow please consider liking the video and continuing to watch the content. It's fairly digestible And it's pretty short episodes and they only come out once a month short and sweet and uh, There's something to look forward to at the end of your month.
So next month is again a busy one I told you I was going to talk about this at the end of the episode You Um, so I'm going to be attending a two week apologetics camp called The Summit.
